Businesses & Organizations

How You Can Be Part of The Lighthouse Project?

Please reach us at ellouise@belighthouse.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A Lighthouse business or organization is a place that has chosen to be part of a trusted network of support.

It’s somewhere people can go—or be guided to—when they don’t feel safe, need help, or need a moment to regroup.

This could be anything from a café or salon to a gym, hotel, charity, or community space.

Being part of the network is designed to be simple and manageable.

For most, it means:

  • Being a safe, visible place someone can walk into
  • Having staff who understand how to respond calmly and appropriately
  • Supporting someone while they wait for help or next steps

There is no expectation to handle emergencies alone—this is about being part of a wider system.

Sometimes—but it’s designed to be straightforward and practical.

We provide guidance on:

  • How to respond in different situations
  • How to support someone safely
  • When and how to escalate if needed

The focus is on confidence, not complexity.

Support will always depend on the situation, but could include:

  • Offering a safe place to sit and regroup
  • Helping someone contact a friend, family member, or service
  • Staying with someone until further support arrives
  • Being a visible, reassuring presence

Sometimes, just being there is enough.

When someone uses The Lighthouse app, they can be guided toward nearby Lighthouse locations.

Your business or organization can appear as a trusted point on the map—making it easier for someone to find support quickly and confidently. This can be turned on or off as needed depending on your hours and availability.

No.

You are not expected to take on full responsibility or replace emergency services.

You are part of a wider system designed to support, connect, and escalate when needed.

That’s exactly where this fits.

If you are already a charity, service provider, or community organization, The Lighthouse Project can help connect more people to the support you already offer.

This is about strengthening existing work—not replacing it.

Yes.

Some organizations may want to go beyond being a Lighthouse location.

This could include:

  • Supporting outreach initiatives
  • Collaborating on awareness or campaigns
  • Contributing resources, services, or expertise

If you’re interested in supporting The Lighthouse Project through funding, brand partnership, or wider collaboration, we’d love to explore that with you.

Why does this matter?

Because people don’t always know where to go in the moment.

Being part of this network means you become somewhere they can turn to—without hesitation.

How do we get involved?

If you’d like to be part of The Lighthouse Network, we’d love to start the conversation.
