Every day, women are struggling to survive, in cities, towns, shelters, and crisis situations where they often feel invisible.
They are mothers, daughters, sisters, women who have faced domestic violence, lost stability, or fallen through the cracks of systems that don’t always catch them.
Her Shoes was born from a simple idea: no woman should feel alone or forgotten. Our mission is to meet women where they are, leading with compassion and following with real, practical support.
We provide essential care items, help navigate critical resources, and offer something just as important, time, dignity, and human connection.
This is just the beginning.
Together, we can restore dignity, create safety, and bring hope to women who need it most.
Her Shoes didn’t start as an organization; it started in a family court waiting area.
Our founder, Ellouise, was supporting a friend when she noticed a woman sitting nearby, crying and struggling to navigate the forms she had been given. Ellouise sat beside her, helped her fill them out, and in that moment, began to understand her story.
Before there was a name, a logo, or a plan, there were small acts of support. Ellouise, sitting with women in their homes. Standing beside them in courtrooms. Helping them navigate moments that felt overwhelming and isolating. It looked like handing out hats and scarves in the cold, offering hot drink vouchers, and making sure someone had something warm in their hands on a hard day.
What began as simple, consistent acts of care quickly revealed a deeper need: women weren’t just lacking resources, they were lacking connection, guidance, and someone willing to stand beside them without judgment.
That’s where Her Shoes was born.
Not from an idea, but from experience. From seeing firsthand how much a small moment of support can change the direction of someone’s day or even their life.

Our work is built on a continuous cycle of support. We begin with direct outreach through Her Shoes, meeting women where they are and providing immediate, real-world help. Their stories and needs shape Eve & Lil, where purpose-driven products help fund and sustain the mission. This allows us to grow the Lighthouse Project—developing technology designed to protect and support women at scale. Together, these three pillars create a self-sustaining system that expands our reach, deepens our impact, and ensures no woman is left without support.
